Am I sick or am I just kidding myself?

I am a hypochondriac to an extent and I don't have the time or money to go to the doctor's currently, so I am hoping that someone out there will be able to help me. I am a smoker (1.5 years) and rarely have a cough. Recently I have been coughing so hard that my lungs, chest, and head hurt. Sometimes there is phlegm and sometimes not. I am 18 years old and usually am in good health except this year. It is my first year at college so I have been getting pretty sick over e year compared to my usual common cold and seasonal allergies. I don't know if this is just a cough or if I am sick. Could someone please help me out?
