NFL...if you lose to a team, but have a better record in the end, will you be a higher seed?

If you look at Tampa and Carolina, they are both 9-3 but Tampa beat Carolina so they are #1 and Carolina #2. They play each other Monday night so we will see how the NFCsouth turn out.
