Can I tow a Mini with a 1999 Ford Ranger 2wd?

I am gettin a 1980 Mini, but I have to go pick it up. I have to drive about 300 miles to go get it, and really don't want to drive the mini that far home if you know what I mean. But I was thinking about renting a car dolly or a small equipment trailer. And I was wondering if you thought that I could tow this and what would be the best option. My truck is a 1999 Ford Ranger with a 2.5L and its a 5 speed manual
