Am I to old to ride horses?

Okay well im in 8th grade and I love horses, but I never had many chances to ride them. Well after a couple of years today my sisters mom let me ride hers. I loved it! So maybe there is a way I can get a horse, but if I did i was wondering if i was to old to go into rodeos and be any good?
